The new Team Origin TP52, structurally designed by ABstructures successfully completed sea trials and structural tests moments after it was launched.
ABstructures completed the structural design of theTeam Origin TP52 in just a few months after receiving the go ahead for the project only last fall.
Due to the tight time frame, the design activities had to be be conducted parallel to the boat being constructed in NZ, optimizing the limited time available.
Using the new 2010 TP52 Rule, the new vessel features a full carbon composites construction.
Design methodologies mutuated from Volvo70 and Open60 programs have been used to get the best optimized structures against new TP52 2010 Rules.
